In last week's Throwback Thursday, we covered the story of coach Wang Tao and Ma Wenge. This week we will have a look at a very experienced coach who said "Table tennis is his love forever" in his new book! He is Zhou Shusen. You may not recall who Zhou Shusen is but you must have heard of the Singaporean women's team defeating the Chinese team and walked away with their first ever world team champion in 2010 WTTC. Well, Zhou Shusen was the coach of the champion-winning team.

The singles finals conclude day 10 and table tennis event at the 13th National Games. Ding Ning clinched the women's singles and the men's singles title goes to Ma Long while Xu Xin withdrew from today's competition due to injuries.

Day 9 in Tianjin is a day of women's doubles and men's doubles. Mu Zi and Gu Yuting celebrate winning the women's doubles title and the men's doubles champion goes to Fan Zhendong and Zhou Yu who were the men's doubles champion at the 12th National Games as well.

Quarterfinal action begins on day 8 with men's / women's doubles and singles in play. It was a smooth sailing for the no.1 seeded men's doubles and women's doubles as they swept aside their opponents in three games. While the singles competition was full of cheers and tears.

13th Chinese National Games: Day 4 Recap & Matches of Day 5

Day 4 of the table tennis event at the 13th Games is incredibly exciting and dramatic. The women's team semifinals took place in the morning. Team Sichuan and Heilongjiang headed to to the finals and will play against each other at 14:00 (GMT+8) on 1 Sep. The underdogs, Team Sichuan surprised us with a 3-1 victory over Team Guangdong which defeated Team Beijing (led by Ma Long) last night. The team will be playing against Shanghai which fought strong and made a comeback against the PLA Team at 19:00 (GMT+8) on 1 Sep. The team finals will be streaming on CCTV 5 so make sure you have your pc ready.

13th Chinese National Games: Day 3 Recap & Matches of Day 4

Day 3 features the team quarterfinals. After a day of intense competitions, Heilongjiang, Hubei, Beijing and Sichuan (women) and Shanghai, PLA, Sichuan, Guangdong (men) made to the semifinals.

Since the draw of team events (knock-off stage) and singles event were announced on 29 August, there are not much time for me to write separate previews. So this will be a brief preview regarding the singles event and team event (knock-off stage).
