Day 3! Another day of the team competitions. Several decisive matches have been played today. Some teams have secured their spots to the final stage while some leave the suspense till the last match. Which team will qualify to the final stage of the Chinese National Games?

In the men's side, Team Liaoning almost gives away their ticket to Tianjin (the final stage) after losing 2 important matches to Sichuan and Guangdong. Team Liaoning place their bet on 17-year-old Yuan Licen but his performance fell short of the team's expectation and even worse he twisted his knee in the match against Zhu Linfeng. The match ended up a 2-3 defeat for Team Liaoning.
With an injured player, Team Liaoning played against the stronger team, Guangdong in the evening session. 17-year-old penhold player from Team Liaoning, Xu Haidong did a pretty good job. After losing to Zhou Qihao from Guangdong, he beat the veteran, Zhang Chao after 5 set of intense competition. Although Guangdong's key player, Lin Gaoyuan did not play in the match, the team is overall stronger than Liaoning and deserve to win the match by 3-2.
Team Guangdong locks their spot to Tianjin by winning this match and the match against Hong Kong. It seems that the match was an easy win for Guangdong but the match between Zhang Chao and Wong Chun Ting is intriguing. Wong Chun Ting started the first set with a-few-point lead but Zhang Chao was not giving up and fought back strong. In the second set, Wong lost the set with 5 set points in hand. This reflects experience is a valuable asset of the veterans and determination is important for winning a match.
Team Beijing is undefeated but Ma Long lost a set in the match against 16-year-old Yu Xinhang from Team Tianjin. Yu Xinhang made his debut in the Chinese Super League last year and had a staggering performance here again. He is quick and played several wide angles in the match. Xi Sheng from Team Hubei gave a Ma Long mercy point in the third set winning the set by 11-1 but losing the other three. Ma Long continues his run of victory but he is not in great shape. He might be a bit too conservative in the match to prevent from injuring himself further.
The women's team is full of surprises. One of the surprises is Zhao Lin from Team Guangxi. She beat Chen Meng and Liu Gaoyang from Team Shandong, two top national team players while she is not even in the national team. However it is impossible to clap with one hand, Team Shandong took the victory with overall stronger players. Zhao Lin also made a clean sweep in the match against Team Yunnan, which has a competitive player, Wang Yidi and Liu Ming but the team fell short from winning. There's not much about Zhao Lin. All we know is that she is a shakehand player with short-pimpled rubber in the backhand. She is not in the national team and we don't know whether she will be part of it but her surprising performance in the match should have caught the attention of other players and audience.
