Catch Up: Big Success For League in Japan, First T League Champion Presented

The first edition of T League ends on a high note with the finals staged down in Tokyo, Japan on 17 March.



A nail-biting women's team final put an exclamation mark at the end of the 2018-2019 T League season. Meister and Nippon Life win the men's and women's team champion respectively and the MVP goes to Harimoto Tomokazu (first-half of the season), Jun Mizutani (second-half of the season), Hina Hayata (first-half of the season) and Kasumi Ishikawa (second-half of the season).

The T League is a brand new table tennis league launched in Japan. The 2018-2019 season was commenced on 24 October 2018 with 4 men's teams and 4 women's teams contending for the team title. 7 round robins, a total of 21 matches were played per team and the top 2 teams after the round robin stage advance to the playoffs.
