CCTV 5's Star Talk interviewed Liu Shiwen, the 2019 women's singles world champion, after she returned to Beijing from the 2019 World Championships held from 21 to 28 April. In the interview, Liu Shiwen walks us through the toughest days of her competitive career and explains what was in her mind to make the bounce back after being so close to the long-awaited title for 10 years. She also tells us the impact of her mixed doubles partner Xu Xin and her national team coach Ma Lin have made on her prior to the 2019 World Championships. Last but not least, with the 2020 Tokyo Olympics just around 400 days to go, she shares her new goals after the Championships.
