Catch Up: 2019 China Youth National Games Prelims

The preliminary stage of the 2019 China Youth National Games is played from 27 March to 10 April. Have a look at who are the promising juniors burst onto the scene.

The last China Youth National Games (in 2015) consisted of 1 category, U20, now the second edition is increasing the number to 3, U19 sport school, U15 sport school and U19 club category, each includes 7 events, team, singles, doubles for both men and women and mixed doubles. The top 16 finishers of each event in the preliminary stage will advance to the main round reported to be held this July

About China Youth National Games

China Youth National Games is a national multi-sport event held every 4 years for Chinese young athletes. It was first held in 1988 as the China City Games and was given the current name from 2015 onward to gear to the newly launched Youth Olympic Games. The aim of the Games is to prepare the younger generations to move forward and promote sports development in China. Over the years, the Games has been a stage where the future stars shine. Let's say the men's singles and women's singles champion from the 2015 China Youth National Games are Wang Chuqin and Zhu Yuling who will be representing China at the 2019 WTTC this April.
