ITTF President Thomas Weikert disclosed details of mixed doubles at 2020 Tokyo Olympics during the launch of ITTF Museum in Shanghai on 31 March. According to his reply, there will be 16 pairs of mixed doubles competing at the 2020 Olympics. Associations can compete in all 5 events but the number of athletes remains unchanged, 3 men and 3 women at most. How would the Chinese build their team to win 5 gold medals in Tokyo? Will there be one or even two triple-gold medalist at the 2020 Olympics?
