Catch Up: 2019 All Japan National Championships

History has been repeated and created at the 2019 All Japan National Championships staged down from 14-20 January in Osaka, Japan. 


Each year over 1000 Japanese athletes take part in the All Japan National Championships to contend for titles on offer for both junior and open categories. The All Japan National Championship comprised 7 events: Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Junior Boys' Singles and Junior Girls' Singles. Meanwhile the men's singles champion and women's singles champion of this tournament will earn the tickets to the 2019 World Championships to be held in Budapest, Hungary.

Ito Mima repeats her success, winning all 3 titles again at the 2019 All Japan National Championships. Her victory in women's singles also earns her the ticket to 2019 World ChampionshipsThe very much anticipated Harimoto-vs-Jun final did not show up as Harimoto Tomokazu lost 3-4 to Yuya Oshima in the men's singles semifinals. Jun Mizutani regains his national title and becomes the first man to have won 10 All Japan National Championships. Harimoto Tomokazu and Yuto KizukuriHina Hayata and Ito Mima, Morizono Masataka and Ito Mima. win men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles title respectively.
