Schedule
The 2018 CTTSL have 2 stages with the first stage in a double round-robin basis, in which every team plays all others in its league once at home and once away, a total of 18 rounds from 9 October 2018 to 30 January 2019. The champion will be decided in the second stage (Grand Finals) which is drafted to be scheduled from 16 to 19 February 2019. The men's competition is held on the same date as the women's competition this season whereas in the past the competitions were scheduled on alternate days in the week. It can either go in the viewers' favour, as they need to spare 2 days of the week only to follow all matches, instead of 4 in the past. On the other hand, they might have to choose which match to follow as it is likely that the men's and women's competitions will be held in the same time slot. I'm sure most will be fine and will catch up the other competitions later online.
Line-up
History
China has its first nationwide table tennis league in late-1995 when Kong Linghui led Heilongjiang Yafeng Club to win the first Chinese table tennis league champion out of 12 clubs. The league changed its name to Chinese Table Tennis A-League in 1998 and renamed as Chinese Table tennis Super League (CTTSL) in 1999. 2018 CTTSL is the 18th CTTSL. There will be 10 clubs on each men's and women's side contending for the top prizes.
Past Champions
Ma Lin is the most celebrated male athlete at CTTSL as he has won 7 CTTSL champions in his career and the record is yet to be broken. While for the women's side, Li Xiaoxia led Shandong Luneng to win 5 CTTSL champions and has won the most CTTSL title among the female athletes.
I'm intrigued to see how will the new season kick off with new roster for each team. We could have a better overview of the league when an official list of line-up is available. Hopefully, the roster will be confirmed soon so that I can write articles about the teams. As for the schedule, there is little information about live streaming and the time of each match. I will follow it closely and make updates in this post. I'm sure it will be an exciting season and more information will be provided on the official website of CTTSL.
