13th Chinese National Games: Day 4 Recap & Matches of Day 5

Day 4 of the table tennis event at the 13th Games is incredibly exciting and dramatic. The women's team semifinals took place in the morning. Team Sichuan and Heilongjiang headed to to the finals and will play against each other at 14:00 (GMT+8) on 1 Sep. The underdogs, Team Sichuan surprised us with a 3-1 victory over Team Guangdong which defeated Team Beijing (led by Ma Long) last night. The team will be playing against Shanghai which fought strong and made a comeback against the PLA Team at 19:00 (GMT+8) on 1 Sep. The team finals will be streaming on CCTV 5 so make sure you have your pc ready.

13th Chinese National Games: Day 3 Recap & Matches of Day 4

Day 3 features the team quarterfinals. After a day of intense competitions, Heilongjiang, Hubei, Beijing and Sichuan (women) and Shanghai, PLA, Sichuan, Guangdong (men) made to the semifinals.

I'm way more excited for the 13th Chinese National Games than I've been in a really long time, because there will be world-class Chinese table tennis athletes as well as upcoming future stars striving for 7 titles in 10 days. The Games will take place from 28 August to 6 September in Tianjin. With 3 days to go and no news about the draw of the single events, let's have a look at the goals of each team and athlete at the 13th Chinese National Games.

The Chinese National Games table tennis event is always ended with a spectacular men's singles finals. The table tennis men's singles champion at the Games does not only represents the highest level of Chinese table tennis but sometimes means a lot more to the athlete himself. CNG Throwback: The End Of The Penhold Heyday

How often do we see a female penholder playing in the semifinals or later rounds in the women's singles? Penholders used to have prestigious achievements in the past. However the shakehanders are the majority of the table tennis world in nowadays. We seldom find penholders in the women's field (Shan Xiaona, Ni Xialian and Zhang Qiang to name a few) not to mention in the later rounds of the competition. CNG throwback is going to cover the bronzer medal match of the women's singles at 2005 Chinese National Games. A match between penholder and shakehander.

Tickets for the 13th Chinese National Games for table tennis are on sale! Scheduled on 28 August to 6 September at the Wuqing Gymnasium, Tianjin, China, the 10-day competitions includes both men's and women's team, singles, doubles event and mixed doubles, a total of 7 events. Top Chinese athletes and upcoming future stars will be vying for the 7 titles in the Chinese National Games, a multi-sport event held once every 4 years.

CTTA made an announcement about the seeds of the singles event at the 13th Chinese National Games. The seeds are ranked based on their World rankings and rankings at the 2016 Chinese Nationals and 2016 CTTSL.

Sometimes, though, it is not the finals nor the semifinals and we remember the match well. CNG Throwback: Back-To-Back 7-Game Thriller

Is the previous CNG Throwback (2005 men's doubles finals) captivating, especially the various soft touches played by Ma Lin and Zhang Chao? While some might think it is a bit "old-school" as we are more used to see powerful loops and quick counter-attacks nowadays.
